DENR XI regional technical director for protected wildlife and coastal zone management services Emmanuel Isip said based on their assessment Ligid island is a host to rich and healthy rocks and corrals where school of fish of different varieties abound as well as their spawning ground.
Because of this the dive site in Ligid Island is the first site of the Island Garden City of Samal that passed the assessment made by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. He also said that the council of Samal Island must pass a resolution to protect this dive site by means of regulating access to it.
