SM Davao is planning to develop their 3 ha. lot beside the mall to house 3 buildings that can accomodate call centers and BPO companies. Councilor Lavina has already introduced a resolution in the council endorsing this project.
Next steps that the SM management has to under take will be to ask for endorsement from the DTI as well as submit their requirements to be classified as an IT Park to PEZA.
This is good news for the city as it will help bring in jobs as well as employ a large number of Davaoenos.
Most of the jobs offerred by the BPO and Call Center Industry usually revolve around software development, web development, inbound contact support, product support, outbound marketing, marketing research and back office processing.
