The entrance examination for the University of the Philippines, for those who wish to take it in Mindanao, will be held on August 4-5 at the UP Mindanao Campus. The UP Mindanao Campus can be found in Mintal at Davao City.
University of the Philippines is the premiere state University. Dubbed as the cradle of future leaders in the Philippines it has been churning out “Scholar ng Bayan” (Scholars of the Nation) for almost a century now. Underprivileged but worthy students are given a shot at getting a good education by means of student scholarships and subsidized tuition. Unlike Universities in other countries, the Philippines does not offer government sponsored student loans as a means of paying for one’s tuition, so that incase one cannot acquire a scholarship one can just apply for a loan. Another way to enter the university is through an athletic scholarship.
To apply, Mail the following to the Office of Admissions, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City:
1. Correctly and completely accomplished UPCAT Forms 1 and 2.
2. Four 2″ x 2″ identical recent photographs taken within the last 6 months .
3. Non-refundable application fee of P450.00; and (d) self-addressed stamped envelope.
Application Forms can be photocopied, obtained from the UP in Mindanao campus and/or may be downloaded from the U.P. UPCAT Website. Last Day of submission of application forms is on June 27, 2007.
