The Davao City Fish Port (DCFPC) will have two new processing plants opening soon. The two plants are RYU and Aqua4 that process marine products for export to Japan. The two plants will process octopus or squid into cuttle fish.
However along with the good news, it was also noted that there was sharp decline in Sashimi grade tuna processed at the DCFPC as international vessels have opted out of offloading their catch in the said port.
It has also been noted that the General Santos City port has been supplying 60 to 70% of Davao City’s Tuna requirement.
