The European Union’s, Cine Europa 10, comes to Davao this October 11 and will last until the 15th. It will be showcased at Gaisano South Citimall.
Here you can watch and experience the charm, grandeur, diversity and uniqueness of the culture and heritage of the European Union.
Films that will be show there are Summer in Berlin, Shooting Dogs, and Sex and Nothing Else. European Cinema is well represented with the film entries from the countries of Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
This will be the 10th year of Cine Europa which is also timed with the celebration of the 50th year of the Treaties of Rome.
The opening of the Cine Europa in Davao will be highlighted by the presence of by EC Ambassador Alistair MacDonald and British Council Director Andrew Picken.
Cine Europa, which started in 1998, remains to be a distinctive acknowledgement of the partnership of the European Community with the Philippines by way of sharing with the Filipino public the diversity and uniqueness of European film culture. The festival started in Davao City in 2005 with the European Community forging partnership with the Gaisano South Citimall. Admission to the screenings is free on a first-come, first-served basis.[source]
