Evelyn Laviña, wife of City Councilor Peter Laviña, said that there is a huge potential for the landscapers in Davao but noted the lack of organization of the landscaping industry which could have helped aide its upliftment.
She also noted the disparity of pricing between Davao and Manila as normal charges would just be P500 / sq. m vs P150,000 in Manila.
She also said that many garden makers have a hard time sourcing their home garden plant needs in Davao because producers cannot be located and are therefore forced to look outside the city. In order to solve this she plans to put up a database of suppliers. This would most likely include home garden plant producers, horticulturists, florists, landscapers and home gardening supplies.
