PSE StockHolder’s Meeting Schedule

May 15th, 2008 --

Some publicly listed companies in the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) announced already their schedules for their yearly stock holders meeting. Stock Traders who own shares of stock in the said companies will be allowed to attend these yearly events.

The Philippine Stock Exchange has been hit badly by the Credit Crisis in the US Financial Market brought about by reckless financial planning and investment choices in the property sector. Old Mechanics for Old Cars

May 11th, 2008 --

Somebody once told me that in life you will need a good engineer, a good accountant and a good lawyer. Having lived life already I can say there is more to life than just those three. So from my own logic I can say that you will need a Good Lawyer, an Honest Doctor and an Honest Mechanic. An Honest Doctor because you always want him to be truthful in his billings and in his diagnosis of you. A Good Lawyer because in the justice system’s ruling the world an honest lawyer isn’t enough to cut it. Then comes the last piece of advice.

An Honest Mechanic to fix and diagnose your car problems. Having almost gone through a dozen mechanics I can safely say that an Honest Mechanic is the difference between saving a lot and giving up on personal transportation altogether.

A Good Mechanic will be able to solve your problems. However an honest mechanic will be honest enough to tell you when he’s not capable of fixing your car, but he knows somebody who is. He will be honest enough to tell you that he doesn’t know about fuel injection parts, nor how the car alarm works as well as how to install those latest car active suspensions with air compressors. He’s not the type to install car mods, NOS systems, wicked car sub woofers, stylish car kits nor the latest ground effects.

May 11th, 2008 --

Smart Broadband Inc filed for more frequency bandwidth from the NTC because they are planning to offer Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) with their current services. With IPTV, SmartBro will be able to offer digital television shows to their customer base.

SmartBro already filed their application in March for the use of two 48-megahertz frequency bandwidth in the 700 MHz spectrum.

In current practice, IPTV is usually provided along with traditional Voice over IP (VoIP) phone service. IPTV usually comes in the form of Video in Demand. With this current development, it further dulls the lines between traditional telecommunications company and cable companies as the latter has already started providing internet services along with its traditional Cable TV programs.
